Cornbread Dressing

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz cornbread mix
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup margarine
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 cup green onion
  • 1 tsp rubbed sage
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Make cornbread as directed by package; cool 25 minutes, then crumble into a medium bowl.
  • Heat 1/4 cup of margarine in a skillet; add the celery, green onion; saute until celery is tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the celery mix to the cornbread along with the seasonings (except baking powder), egg, and the broth.
  • Mix well, add the baking powder.
  • Arrange in a greased baking dish,
  • Bake covered 30 minutes then remove the foil, and bake 15 more minutes or until browned.
