Baked Ziti

This combines pasta, Italian sausage, and sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic diced
  • italian sausage crumbled
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • ½ cup white wine
  • ½ cup milk
  • 3 cups tomato sauce
  • ¾ tsp oregano dried
  • ½ tsp rosemary dried
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 cup mozzarella

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400℉.
  • Heat a large pot of water and cook ziti as directed.

  • Meanwhile, in a large skillet heat oil until hot (not smoking).

  • Add onion & garlic and cook on medium heat stirring often until tender.

  • Stir in sausage and cook until its no longer pink.

  • Add the wine, and cook until most of the liquid has evaporated.
    ½ cup white wine
  • Stir in the flour until well combined.

  • Add the milk and cook until slightly thickened.
    ½ cup milk
  • Stir in tomato sauce and seasonings and cook for about five minutes.
    3 cups tomato sauce, ¾ tsp oregano, ½ tsp rosemary, ½ tsp salt, ¼ tsp pepper
  • Add the meat sauce to the pasta and toss until it's all coated evenly.
  • Spoon the mixture into a 9x13 baking dish and bake for 10 minutes uncovered.
  • Add the cheese to the top and bake 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
